Is Japanese Head Spa Co. training accredited and recognized?

Yes, our training is fully accredited by Course Accreditation. Upon successful completion, you receive 25 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points.

We welcome students aged 16 years and over onto our classroom-based courses. 

For online courses, there are no age restrictions as all learning is completed remotely from home.

Online courses are open to all learners. In most cases, there are no formal entry requirements other than a good level of spoken and written English and access to a computer, tablet, or mobile device with a reliable internet connection. 

Insurance is not required to complete either classroom-based or online courses.

Once you have completed your course and received certification, you will need to arrange your own beauty insurance before offering treatments to the public.

No prior experience is required. Our course welcomes both established beauty professionals looking to expand their service offerings and newcomers entering the industry for the first time.

The course consists of two parts:

  • Theory: Self-paced online learning through your student portal (complete at your own speed)
  • Practical: 1-day face-to-face training from 10am-3pm with live models

YES, this is mandatory. You MUST complete 100% of your online theory before attending your hands-on practical training day. If your theory is not completed, you will NOT be able to join the practical session.

4. Practical Training Details

What if there's no training location near me?

Fill out our “Where Do You Want To See Us?” submission form. The more interest we receive from a region, the sooner we’ll schedule training there. You’ll get first access when we launch in your area.

No. Each course purchase grants access to one individual student only. If multiple students wish to participate, a separate course booking is required per person to ensure proper certification, insurance validity, and access to learning materials.

Practical training runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (approximately 5 hours). Times are subject to minor changes and will be confirmed in your booking email. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for registration.

No, models are not required. We supply live models for your practice, and students also work on each other during training. Everything is provided — you just need to arrive ready to learn.

Wear smart, comfortable clothing suitable for a professional training environment. 

Some courses require a patch test at least 24-48 hours before your practical training day. 

5. HEAD SPA EQUIPMENT

What Japanese Head Spa equipment do I need to start offering treatments?

At minimum, you need a Head Spa Unit or Full bed unit. Our units come complete with:

  • Head Spa Unit (basin)
  • Head Spa Hood
  • Head Spa Steamer
  • Water Pump & Heater
  • English instructions & control panel
  • USA plugs 
  • Plumbed Units: Connect directly to mains water supply (hot and cold) and drainage. Requires professional installation but offers unlimited water flow. Best for fixed salon locations.
  • Non-Plumbed Portable Units: Use a 60L water tank and mobile drainage system. No plumbing required, making them perfect for mobile therapists, home-based businesses, or spaces without plumbing access.

All Head Spa units are covered by a limited warranty against manufacturing faults from the date of delivery.

  • Portable 60L Non-Plumbed Units (Black & White): 12-month limited parts warranty.
  • All other Head Spa Units: 6-month limited parts warranty.
  • Maximum warranty claim value is $125 per claim.
  • The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred.

The warranty is valid only if:

  • You are present during the engineer’s delivery demonstration.
  • The unit has been correctly installed by a qualified professional (where applicable).
  • The unit has been properly maintained and operated according to the provided maintenance guidelines.
  • Proof of purchase is provided.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Steamers, consumable parts, or accessories.
  • Cosmetic or structural damage to the basin.
  • Damage caused by misuse, incorrect operation, neglect, improper maintenance, unauthorized repairs or modifications, incorrect installation, electrical faults from improper use, limescale, blocked systems, or normal wear and tear.

Warranty claims are assessed at the sole discretion of Japanese Head Spa Co. and the manufacturer.

Plumbed units require:

  • Access to mains water supply (both hot and cold)
  • A suitable drainage point
  • Adequate space for installation

6. Equipment Maintenance & Support

How do I arrange servicing or repairs for my Head Spa equipment?

For customers in the USA, technical support is provided through our remote video diagnostic service. To request assistance, you must complete and submit the Servicing Request Form on the Japanese Head Spa Co. servicing page, including a detailed description of the issue, photos or videos, proof of purchase, and any other information requested by our technical support team.

Once your request has been reviewed, a member of our team will contact you to arrange a video diagnostic appointment if appropriate.

If your equipment develops a fault, submit a Servicing Request Form through our website. Our support team will respond within 48 business hours, and an engineer will follow up within a further 48 business hours to assess the issue.

Most faults are diagnosed remotely during a video diagnostic appointment, where our engineer will identify the problem, guide you through troubleshooting, and determine whether replacement parts are required.

Your first video diagnostic appointment during the warranty period is free. Additional video diagnostic appointments, where applicable, are $50 USD per appointment. If the fault is confirmed to be a manufacturing defect covered under warranty, it will be handled in accordance with our Warranty Policy.

If a manufacturing fault is confirmed during the warranty period, Japanese Head Spa Co. may provide replacement parts or components up to a maximum value of $135 USD, at the Company’s discretion.

Once an engineer confirms that replacement parts are required during the video diagnostic process, they will be dispatched within 24 business hours, subject to stock availability.

Regular maintenance is demonstrated during your delivery. We recommend:

  • Daily: Wipe down with Anti-Microbial Disinfectant Spray
  • Weekly: Use Head Spa Unit Water Cycle Cleaner  to flush the system
  • Monthly: Clean filter and check pump operation
  • Use our Anti-Clogging Drain Filter to prevent blockages

Head Spa Units are custom-made to order and are non-refundable once an order has been confirmed. Orders cannot be cancelled once production has commenced.

Electrical items are non-refundable once used, although unused electrical items may be returned within 14 days of delivery.
